The plastic at the bottom of a shower screen

…how do I keep it clean?

We need to replace ours (it came with the house and is literally falling apart) but when I have replaced it, how do I stop it going mouldy and disgusting?

I just slide mine off every few weeks quick rinse with bleach and slide back on

Mine can be taken off and replaced easily and I just take it off, clean it with normal bathroom cleaner and a green scrubby sponge or if it’s got bad some liquid limescale remover.

The mouldy slime can grown wherever soapy water has settled after a shower. I use a "daily shower spray" that is rinse-free - these work by changing the properties of the water slightly so that it all drains away rather than keeping the surfaces damp (I won't go into the science but it's to do with surface tension if you want to google it) - it also stops the shower screen from getting white powdery residue from hard water, if you are in a hard water area.

Thanks - this one is mouldy on the inside, presumably from cracks? Sounds like a fresh one should be easier to keep clean. We use a window vac on the screen so it shouldn’t have too much water dripping onto it.
