Fabric kitchen chairs?

We recently moved and I’m looking for a 6 seater table and chairs. Our current ones are plain wood style but I like the idea of padded chairs (fabric/velvet etc). DP is worried about the practicalities of cleaning fabric chairs. We don’t have children yet but hopefully within next couple of years.

I just wondered if fabric chairs clean up okay and if anyone had any places they recommend for a table and chairs (ideally £600 or under) Thanks

We have fabric kitchen/dining room chairs, purchased pre children, and are finally about to get rid of them, they have been completely wrecked by our children. (I mean, though no fault of their own really, but just with food being dropped, some have paint on them etc- I always tried to get to stains quickly but it’s not always easy with 3 little ones!) Sorry that might not be helpful but we were just having a conversation today about how we couldn’t wait to choose some easy to clean chairs and how much easier that would be!

Same as poster above. We had fabric chairs for a while and over time they got trashed just with little spills here and there. I was always conscious of having grubby chairs when people came over to eat with us! Washable covers never seem to fit quite the same after washing either. Wipe clean is definitely the way to go when you have little ones in the house.

We had fabric seats with wooden backs. We lasted a few months after kids arrived and then I covered the seats with PU fake leather stuff. Then I was stuck with them for several more years.

The only way I'd do fabric on a kitchen chair is on an easily removable, washable seat pad.
