Help me get rid of this poo patch on my sofa

Some help please

My two year of DD has been constipated and she finally pooed yesterday but as she was in such a state she was leaning on me and some poo came out of her nappy onto my new sofa. I scrubbed frantically with a wet wipe but this morning I see this patch and it still smells.

Any idea what to use on this patch which won't ruin the material please?

I'd really appreciate it

Carpet/sofa foam- give it a good scrub and allow to dry.
Or microfibre cloth soaked in stain remover/dish soap etc then put it round a saucepan lid and soak.

A baby wipe wouldn’t cut it- ideal to scrub straight away.

@RubaiyatOfAnyone - did you mean to put a picture of a product because nothing came up

@Danikm151 -
Thank you. I found Vanish upholstery foam at the back of my kitchen cupboard and gave that a go.
It's still damp but will have another look in the daylight tomorrow

Stain remover for upholstery/carpets. Then if still smells of spray with some white vinegar

Dr Beckman carpet and upholstery cleaner. White bottle with a brush thing attached at the top. It gets EVERYTHING out of carpets and sofas. You can get it in most supermarkets or Amazon.

I cleaned my son's bed with a solution made from denture tablets when he was sick on one corner. Came up amazingly. Also try biological wash powder in hot water as it breaks down the enzymes.

I fourth dr Beckmann, fab stuff.

TheSandgroper · 22/04/2023 13:17

And after all that, sunshine gets rid if the stain itself.

I also recommend the dr beckman, used a lot at my old house as had carpet and a sicky cat 🤢

Definitely put some bicarbonate of soda on it. I’d wet the patch slightly with a flow, rub some bicb soda on and just leave it for a few hours then spray wipe off with damp cloth. This should both remove the stain and smell!

With a cloth, not a flow! Autocorrect is a real menace.
