Any organised storage people able to help? [PIC]

My wardrobe has this awkward shelf. I don't have a ruler but it's roughly one hand deep and two high.

I tend to stuff gym kit and pyjamas up there as they don't need ironing but it's precarious and often all tumbles out.

Is there something I can buy to better organise the space? It's too narrow for boxes and I do like being able to see what's there.

Glue or tape in some vertical dividers. Fold everything and stack so you can see what you have.

or get 2 boxes and label one for gym kit and one for pjs then you can pull out whichever you need.

Is it an option to move the shelf down a few pegs so you have more room for the size of storage container you want?

I'd lose space. As I can only move it up. Thinking about it a second shelf would be useful tbh. But I have no idea where I'd get one

Could you get a thin strip of wood and attach it to the front side to create a lip so everything doesn't fall out?

An inch or 2 high and 1cm deep so it doesn't take up too much space. It would be easy to attach with no more nails and a few dowels.

You may have to create some extra fixings, but I'd move the hanging rail to the top of the wardrobe, and the shelf to the bottom. Much easier to access things. You could then use boxes at the bottom.

Can you move hanging rail up, so shelf space is at the bottom of the wardrobe?

then find boxes that fit. Easier to reach/pull them out that way

With a space that shallow, tbh id give up trying to keep clothes in it and use it for spare beauty products / toiletries (surely its not just me who has 3 moisturisers in case i run out??)

Consider transparent fridge organisers. Or plastic food containers (eg lock and lock type) used without the lids.

I would get a couple of the clear acrylic storage containers, they are the same as the home edit but much cheaper in b&m
