Tell me about your tumble dryers

So our tumble dryer that is 22yrs old finally gave up the ghost today.

It's an indesit vented dryer.

Having a quick look online it seems there are not many vented dryers on the market to choose from. It seems heat pump dryers are the new kid on the block?

Has anyone bought a tumble dryer recently, any recommendations for a type?

I'm interested in keeping energy costs down of course, it's currently used 3-4 loads a week. Budget for a new one is about £500.

Get a heat pump one. I had a condenser before this one and this is so so good on the electric and actually dries my clothes compared to the last one. It does take longer to dry them though but that's better for your clothes too

We bought a Beko heat pump dryer last year. First time we've ever owned one. It's fab!

Another vote for a heat pump dryer. Replaced our old condenser with a heat pump one, it’s great - very economical to run and apparantly they are gentler on clothes.

Got a heat pump one recently. Takes ages but I love it as so much cheaper to run. I don't feel guilty for using it. Plus it doesn't ruin your clothes
