Mowing a Lawn

I know this sounds ridiculous but I've never mowed a lawn before. I am going to have to use a plug in one.

How difficult is it and does the lawn have to be completely dry? If it rained the night before should I avoid mowing it? Thank you for getting this far with my post Grin

if it has been raining or is frosty/ dewy overnight, leave it until later in the day to give it a chance to dry. It will be a cleaner cut.
If it is still wet, set the lawnmower to a higher cut, to avoid pulling at the roots.

I only know these things as I am apparently quite bad at it. Deliberate Incompetence cuts both ways 😉

The first time I ever did it was last summer and I couldn't believe how easy it was.
Just go around the edges and then go up and down in lines. Remember to empty as you go.
With the cords keep moving it out the way.
I always used to avoid doing it but now I actually prefer it to any other garden job so I try and get in there first to get out of the weeding!

This time if year a higher cut is better as the grass is damp even if it hasn't been raining.
