@IncessantNameChanger wow your Vinted sales are on an amazing roll! What are you selling? I dropped off 3 items today - there's a slow but steady drip of some of the items I had listed for ages (which I was too lazy to drop off to the charity shop, lol). I just withdrew £200 from Vinted to my bank account so very happy about that!

1113 items for the year now.

I'm selling my daughters clothes some of which are new with tags. So far it's only £37! However if I get to £50 ( which I will, as some sells haven't paid out yet) I can buy ds two new school jumpers.

I do think it's worth it as even it doesn't sell it reinforces the fact that stuff has very little rescale value. A Boden dress is going for £2.50 for example. Monsoon dresses for £4 etc.

Next lost my 14 item sale delivery so its been refunded but it looks like someone else took it. Anyway that's for the best really.

39 sewing items wrapped up ready for posting. Total is 759

I hate to ask on this thread, but does anyone here want any sewing stuff? I'm happy to post it. It's free. It's too good for landfill and I CBA to take to charity shop in case they don't want it

Try one of the craft/sewing threads?

Have you tried a local craft group - we have a local FB group where people pass on unwanted craft supplies?

This would be snapped up on olio or our local FB recycling group!

IndianSummer78 · 20/07/2023 23:13

@Realfastfoodie @RidingMyBike @LivingDeadGirlUK I don't use apps or FB etc. I'm so over dealing with all the messages and people coming to the house if they turn up. Happy to give away to people I know or post out to strangers on the internet, would just like this stuff to not end up in landfill that's all

IndianSummer78 · 21/07/2023 10:52

One framed print going, a cardboard tube from a finished roll of tape, two catalogues and a wishlist that's been lurking around for ages. All from tidying up this morning. Total is 764

Realfastfoodie · 21/07/2023 12:39

I did a big clothes sort out, only found 5 things but put a whole box away for post-pregnancy. A lot of work for minimal “outs” but drawers and wardrobe back under control. One vinted listing.

Realfastfoodie · 21/07/2023 21:23

Got going with sorting out a place for my jewellery and other bedside table crap. Little pile of stuff added to charity bag. Handful of stuff added to rubbish bag. I’m not going to count the individual rubbish items I think but I took the bags of (declutter only) rubbish and recycling out today so I’ll give myself another 2 for that. The main thing is that it’s not falling out of my bedside table now causing havoc, and a few things will go to charity.

Realfastfoodie · 21/07/2023 21:27

Am looking forward to getting my charity / baby bank /fabric recycling bags out and counting the numbers 😁😁😁

IndianSummer78 · 21/07/2023 22:30

Got rid of an uncomfortable dress and a magazine I'd finished reading tonight. Total is 766

Realfastfoodie · 21/07/2023 22:40

Well done @IndianSummer78, you are just so consistent! I’m in awe of your daily updates!

Pigtailsandall · 22/07/2023 10:32

I'm putting a lot of effort into using up my stash of beauty products. I tend to hoard them and not use them! I also often get gifted things like body cleansers or bars but still buy liquid shower gel. I stopped that and haven't bought any in 2023. Instead, trying to use things I already own because I'm worried they'll expire. So today I finished spritzing a perfume sample; also finished one of those body scrub bars and a facial cleanser.
Also donated 2 kids tops to the school yesterday before the term ended. Need to do a bit of cleaning and tidying today so there'll be a few more things leaving the house.

1118 items now

pigtailsandall you remind me of my storage question - where do normal people store their beauty stuff?

I used to have three Really Useful boxes plus a set of acrylic drawers and two bathroom cabinets. I've used up and destashed down to one cabinet, the acrylic drawers and two shoeboxes in my bedroom. Don't like to keep makeup in the bathroom. But feel like I still haven't quite reached a "normal" storage solution.

One day I will just have what I'm using plus one spare but right now I have a blusher and eyeshadow backlog.

IncessantNameChanger · 22/07/2023 11:52

Posted another Vinted sake last night. However picked up ds new school trousers so one out and 4 in. Well 8 in really as got ds15 new pjs but I'm going to stash them as a Christmas present. I think I'm going to thin my wardrobe today. It's full of clothes from my old lifestyle. Haven't had a girls night out since pre covid so all yhat kind of stuff can go. Will do a before pic.

Well done! Save yourself something nice to wear though and organise a girls night out to celebrate your amazing progress!!!

Another pair of knickers for the fabric bag!

Realfastfoodie · 22/07/2023 11:56

We are all doing well. And I’m noticing that places that I’ve sorted are so much easier to tidy up or keep clear…

IncessantNameChanger · 22/07/2023 14:33

I'm having a general tidy up today and just throwing out little bits of junk as I find them. It certainly does get faster to tidy once it's been decluttered

Pigtailsandall · 22/07/2023 17:24

Weekly clean done and I'm always surprised how many things I find even though I'm not exactly decluttering....

3 toys (puzzle, broken car and broken gadget)
Bubble wand
4 pretty greeting cards which I'm never going to use
Hairband
Old lip balm
Face mist, almost done
Packet of rubbish balloons
Plastic card holder
2 gift bags, information booklet, birthday card and a magazine recycled

1136 items so far

IndianSummer78 · 22/07/2023 20:26

30 sewing items wrapped up ready to post on Monday. One babygrow and one baby pyjamas set to donations bag. Total is 796

Pigtails there's a long running thread over on Style and Beauty about toiletries stash if you was interested in joining that one too

Realfastfoodie I just got sick of it all. My place is rammed. Every day I go looking for something to get rid of, however small. I hate waste otherwise I'd just hire a skip and be done with it. I know what I'd save in a fire so theoretically I could bin the rest without sorting through it, but I can't send all that stuff to landfill (and I secretly want to keep it anyway so...)

You're on a roll now Incessant

Jelly I have a dressing table so I keep far far too much makeup there

Anyone want a box of free thread?

IncessantNameChanger · 22/07/2023 20:46

@IndianSummer78 what did you do sewing wise? I quilt. I do have an enormous fabric stash! I'm trying not to buy fabric any more. I love fabric!

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 22/07/2023 23:43

Finally got a day off work so tried to do some sorting out around looking after the kids.

I went through a bin bag of clothes i'd put to one side. I was as ruthless as I could be and put 10 items into the fabric recycling bag and some others on the pile for eBay.

Total 583.

IndianSummer78 · 23/07/2023 00:28

I only ever did repairs and alterations Incessant although I can make things if I've access to a sewing machine. I never really did anything with my skills because I've always had other hobbies and you can't do everything due to cost/time. Perhaps I would've got more into it if I wasn't a shopaholic, there never seemed much point making things when I was going to buy things anyway. I love home made quilts, I'll bet your house looks proper cosy
