OMG Biro all over silk persian rug, what to do?????????

DH bought me a beautiful mostly white silk persian rug (practical!) for our anniversary. DD2 (20 months) has got into the sitting room and at it with a biro! Am gutted, is the only really beautiful thing we have, all our furniture is hand me downs and we all love and respect the 'magic' carpet.......except DD2.

OMG when he bought it, they gave strict instructions to ONLY ever clean it with water. I just don't think it will help, I think it will make it worse and smudge it.

There is loads and loads on it.

Heeeelp. I know its only material goods, but I am gutted.

I would take it to a specialist carpet cleaner. Don't risk doing anything to it yourself.

Much sympathy, my DS is a wall painter too. Bloody annoying, but at least all our furniture is from Ikea.

I think we will have to put it away in a cupboard for 10 years.

We are sposed to have a kid free sitting room but the only telly in the house is there and I had a light fitter here and had to talk to him, so thought would plug them into the telly for half an hour. Stupid me had left a biro at grabbing level!!

Will go for professional I guess.

Well, DS is 3.5yo and still drawing on walls so if it is really important to you it might be better packed away for a while.
