Everything I'm using smears the floors and they look awful!

Get the MIL round when they are proper dirty and 'pop out' for an hour

Mine look awful too. sorry, that's no help but at least you know it's not just you! Sometimes I think mine look worse after I've cleaned them

Actually the MIL is fanastic at doing the washing - its like having a washing machine fairy when she comes to visit but having never had laminate flooring she wouldn't know where to start. She'd probably tell me to get a nice carpet instead (for the 3 young grandchildren to run/draw/sick/potty train over) .

You could ask Kim and Aggie here

I usually go over once with floor-wipes and then get a damp kitchen towel with the water really wrung out then give it another wipe, usually does the trick. If it's not too dirty I just use kitchen towel with water. But I find that you do have to get down on hands and feet.

Took this comment from another site for you:

"i used orange clean wipes when i had laminate. They smelt and looked great after. Pledge Wood floor cleaner (add it to a bucket of water) also works well and leaves them shiny"

Hope it helps

I use a vileda mop with Mr Sheen laminate floor stuff, not too mach (as that makes it smear) and then dry with a microfibre cloth.

They get that once a week and then as and whjen and they are great.

We did buy top of the range stuff though and it was more expensive than wood, but this was what the installer receomended.

I have the whole of my ground floor (Lounge, dinning room, kitchen, loo and conservatory in it) and wish we could afford upstairs too

When i had laminate i used to make mine own cleaner and it worked wonders and kept it sparkling for days.
I used:

1 tbsp of bicarb
4-6 drops of washing up liquid
splash of white vinegar
and
2 drops of baby oil.

the trick is to use no more than 2 drops of baby oil an make sure the water is really really hot. and mop in short strokes the same way as the floor is layed.

HTH.
