Cleaning velvet dining chairs

Any ideas on how to get marks off (most recently hot chocolate spilled by a child!)? All the products I’ve seen say not to use on velvet but velvet dining chairs are so common these days! Also have steamers (clothes and floor) if helpful?!

TIA!

I did the dishwasher tablet hack on my bright yellow sofa and it cleaned it beautifully. It had splashes of blackcurrant squash on it amongst other things. Do a test first though, to be safe.
I just used a microfibre cloth on its own, didn't bother with the saucepan lid.

Sorry, it was a yellow velvet sofa, I meant to say.

I find velvet to be a really Harry fabric and have been known to scrub it with a cloth. Cleans up really well and never shows a mark ime.

White vinegar. Spray onto a cloth, then dab on the stain. This got dark fruits cider out of my pink velvet dining chairs.
