Can anyone recommend a gadget for cleaning upstairs windows??

Does anyone have a window cleaning gadget that works for cleaning first floor windows - either somehow from upstairs (reaching sideways from open window??) or from the ground? I am pretty shit at cleaning windows even when I can reach them so want something fairly idiot proof.
I have looked at Amazon but all the reviews seem very mixed…

(We are in London and window cleaners here are really expensive and only want to come if you commit to once a month or so, which is more than we can afford at the moment.)

Ooh, I want to know this too. I’m also in London and window cleaners are massively unaffordable.

I saw a gadget on Instagram it was magnetised, it looks like they sell something similar on Amazon. Search magnetic window cleaner.

I love my Karcher window vac. I think you can get an extending pole for them, but never tried it myself

Watching with bated breath. Not london but window cleaners are astronomical. We do it ourselves once every 2 years with a scaffolding tower but there must be a better way

A ladder????

A ladder????

I couldn’t. It’s steep, and high, at the back particularly. My long ladders don’t come anywhere near. The front is right on the street, more or less, and with my tall stepladders I can only just about do the ground floor.

A ladder????

Our ladder that reaches takes 2 people to move it, getting up there is only for absolute emergencies and not with a bucket of water 😆 most window cleaners won't even quote us because of this sadly (and the ones that do are waaaaay too expensive to justify)

I have an extender pole for the karcher but it doesn’t quite reach the 1st floor. I can lean out a first floor window and clean the conservatory roof though. I have a long extendable pole thing from Aldi that you clip the hose to. It does an ok job. I have tricky to clean sash windows though. 12 panels per window. I found the best way to do them was to work my way round the upstairs and wash and then go around again drying. I use those cheap microfibre slipper type cloths as they wrap neatly round the top.

Our ladder doesn’t reach and I am
a bit of a scaredy cat about such things.

I did wonder about the magnetic cleaners. They sound good but the reviews on Amazon seem very mixed…
