How to clean dirt out of 'wood grain effect' on LVT floors?

We have LVT flooring downstairs and generally I love it.

BUT...we have four animals who track a lot of dirt and mud through the house.

LVT is great for that but we went for one of the styles that has 'wood grain effect' to make it look realistic.

Didn't think about the fact that mud/dirt would settle into the 'grain' and that the mop wouldn't be able to get it out.

At the moment I'm getting on my hands and knees and scrubbing it with a scrubbing brush which is effective but tedious and time consuming.

It means I can only be arsed every once in a while and the rest of the time just look at the floor in despair...

Any ideas for a faster, less back breaking solution?

That’s the only way I’ve ever had success and I agree it’s back breaking! I hope someone wiser than me turns up…

Can you use a steam cleaner on it? I have one I use on tiles and it’s great for getting dirt out of cracks. Mine has a large floor attachment with a washable pad.

don't wear your glasses indoors Grin

tbh our kitchen floor has the same issue (slate effect porcelain tiles)). I tend to look away and only scrub when mil comes for a visit.

If you can afford it, a scrubber/drier is what you need. It washes the floor & a rolling brush scrubs it, then it sucks up all the water, so you’re not just pushing dirty water around like with a mop or steam cleaner. I do mine about every 6-8 weeks. I have this one: www.lineonline.co.uk/lavor-sprinter-floor-scrubber.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIn6quiYfD_QIV0OvtCh04mA6IEAQYASABEgJou_D_BwE

Stream cleaner but if that doesn't work it's a hands and knees job.

Get the animals a good absorbant doormat to wipe their feet on to avoid the worse of the grot being brought into the house.
