Vomit smell removal from hard floor

My in-laws babysat and brought their dog with them. The dog had jumped up on their kitchen side at home and eaten a whole block of butter before coming to ours.
The dog was sick and the mess was hastily cleaned up whilst we were out. When we arrived home the front room smelt putrid. It is now 3 days later and we have mopped the floor at least 15 times with disinfectant. We have taken the hardwood floor boards up and cleaned between the cracks but the sour butter smell has soaked into the wood and is still as stong as it was 3 days ago. Any advice on how we can neutralise the smell?
Thanks 😊

bicarb Of soda absorbs smells. I’d pour piles of it down and leave it for as long as possible -days even- before hoovering it up.

Thank you - we are trying this and praying it works! I currently can’t walk in the room without gagging!!!

I will keep you posted 😊

Our dog once had the worst sickness and dihorrea from pancreatitis on a hard floor with under floor heating.
It did take several weeks but I alternated white vinegar spray then bicarbonate of soda.
Keep going
