Talking to myself 😆
list is helping anyway, done almost everything on the list for this morning plus a few bits I got distracted by 😳

Just having some lunch then will mop floors, hang second load of washing up and tidy kitchen up, it’s not too bad just a few bits of shopping still to put away and a couple of bits from the fridge clean to deal with. Plus a couple of toys to go back where they belong.

I would love to join you for accountability but I don't think I'll be able to keep up with writing out full lists of everything.

I really want to get going with some daily 'audible & clean' but I'm struggling to start doing this regularly (will be the evenings most days) and/or keep up any kind of consistency.

I'm ok with doing the 'perpetual' jobs (dishes, laundry, basic tidy, swish swipe bathrooms) but really struggle with keeping on top of the rest. I have plenty of time in the evenings...house looks grubby and I really don't like it.

It is my day off today so an easier day to start. I would like to come back here later and say I've done x minutes of housework whilst listening to y and a brief overview of what I did.

Just realised it is a few days since you posted this @Orcubed ! How have you been getting on?

Orcubed · 02/03/2023 17:57

@Clippp I try to get everything done on Monday during school hours and Tuesday mornings as that’s when I don’t have any children at home or work. Did well this week Smile
Lists work for me as I just make them in the notes section on my phone then work through them methodically and tick them off. Stops me getting distracted and leaving stuff half done because I’m flitting from one thing to another!

How did you do today?

Well done for having a productive Mon/Tue!

I use lists too - but how depends on what kind of frame of mind I'm in. I try to limit it to three things if I use them and then come back and write another three once they're done. Unless I'm writing a list to actually remember stuff - then there is no limit.

I got stuff done today but I wouldn't say I did well! I did laundry, dishes, a bit of decluttering, tidying, reorganising, shopping...but that is all the stuff that I 'just do'. So far, I've done no proper cleaning or listened to audible/podcast. So, yes, I've done housework but nothing I wouldn't have done anyway...

But this is working already because now I've said that I'm going to go and do 10+ minutes whilst the dinner is cooking! I want to set that as my minimum each day.

Clippp · 04/03/2023 10:40

My silence meant I ran out of time to do that...and then...back to the same MO of not doing it.

I've just given the kitchen sink drainers/overflow a thorough clean (of the dissemble/Allen keys out kind...) - after being inspired by something on Instagram. Very satisfying!

I'm going to start a new thread (different username, as I am due a change) as our ways of working are quite different. Hope Monday/Tuesday this coming week are just as productive for you Orcubed - good luck!
