Vacuum- can't decide, please help!

I really need to be able to make vacuuming easier. I'm ditching the cleaner soon and stream lining everything.

Two kids, aim to have dog soon. Small ish house, outdoorsy. Sand and dust etc easily comes in. I work part time big looking to increase and Dh works long hours and is housework averse. (TBF so am I! Partly as I'm prone to fatigue)

Mix of hard floors and carpets downstairs, carpets upstairs. Upstairs is annoyingly small but I find that means it gets messier quickly.

I'm trying to choose between a robot hoover (willing to pay for upper range as ditching cleaner) or a really good handheld one such as the Dyson handheld ones.

I'm just wondering if it's actually easier to grab something off the wall and scoot round rather than a robot who may then need corners doing afterwards, and stairs obviously.

Or a robot thing where kids will have to clear lego (and may do so more keenly!) and it regularly trundles about after me while I'm clearing the floor of stuff. Then I do corners/ stairs occasionally with a cheaper handheld.

It sounds as though you are leaning towards the robot plus cheaper hand-held. You are probably right. Everyone seems to love their robot!

We e had handhelds for the last two, Dyson and Bosch. Neither cut it. Just bought an upright Sebo mains cleaner and realised our floors haven’t been properly cleaned for about 6 years 😁. It’s excellent.

Sebo or Miele cat and dog

tackytriceratops · 26/02/2023 08:20

Actually I'm thinking we have too much clutter even for an intelligent robot. Plus stairs and corners

I'd looked at the Miele cat and dog @fizzyfood, the newest version- it seems very strong? Which liked the last version, so this must be better.

I like my Miele corded and bagged vacuum, I just think I'd find a cordless easier and nippier.

Will look at sebo

We’ve got a Shark corded for downstairs, it’s really good for dog hairs, but waste bucket not very big and has to be emptied half way through hoovering. Upstairs we have a cordless G Tech as I cannot be doing with lugging the hoover up and down.

I've gone back to a Sebo as my Miele was so heavy (and broke).

Think it was the pet one.
