I found this on my carpet. I'm wondering if it is some sort of dropping. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Does it smell ? I'm wondering if it's just some mud that's dropped out of the tread on a shoe - hence the odd shape

Definitely mouse droppings. If it was slightly more rounded it would be rat droppings.
