Ants

Just wondered if anyone has had any ants in their properties as it's quite spring like.

I'm hoping I've escaped the ants coming into my property this year. Last year I used those ant bait things and they seemed to do the trick.

We only get ants when the leaves come out, they seem to like the little brown ‘wrappers’ that drop off the trees when they leaves pop open.

I've just seen an ant near my front door. They seem to be indestructible, coming in every year.

I have tried EVERYTHING and they still come into my property. I thought the nests would be destroyed with the ant baits I got from Amazon last year.

Let me know if you find an answer!

I've just ordered Arraby plug in pest repellers for ants. Has anyone tried them or any other pest repellers?

Spotted a few last week at my patio door, then a few more out on a scouting mission no doubt. Talcum powder all long the skirting’s etc where I saw them, and not seen them again! It always does the trick

I seemed to have an ants nest under the path outside my back door, I used a couple of kettles of water and they ran.

I have not seen them since.

Before I used plug in insect repellents there were about 4 ants in my living room over a few days.

Since the plug in things I have only seen two ants and none in my living room. I have a plug in near my front door and there was an ant there this morning but seemed to be heading out towards the front door.

I'm really hoping this is a good sign. I don't want to have to get the ant spray out this year.

I suppose I could Google what an ant nest looks like and pour boiling water down it.

Just seen loads of ants by my front door! They looked like they were swarming round a dead caterpillar or something. Yuk!

I had some Deathlac so I sprayed round and haven't seen any since. I may get some ant bait things as well.

I'm so fed up of this. I've had ants in my property every year from Spring for the last six years.

Anyone had any luck getting rid of ants for good?

I used this spray around external door frames and skirting boards in the affected rooms only. The first year resulted in an 80% decrease, the following year I had twenty ants over the entire summer, now I have none inside. This was over ten years ago. Some summers I see a line of ants near my back door so I spray around the step and they never come in.

Nippon, (they take it back to the nest & it poisons them). A line of dishwashing liquid across outside doorways etc deters them and talc inside. Ditto diatomaceous earth.
