Pour white wine on it!

TiredandLate · 17/02/2023 23:52

If no white wine, put a teatowel down and walk on the spot on the towel, tread as much out as you can then scrub with warm water and fairy liquid might help.

absorb as much as you can with white towels (it's a bit sacrificial, but better than other colours ruining your carpet!)

Tap water on the wine, gently work it in with your fingers so it gets down to the base. Absorb with white towels.

repeat repeat repeat

once you can't face doing it again, cover it with salt overnight.

wash towels & hang to dry.

pray to any being you have a chance with

hoover the salt up in the morning & see where you're at.

repeat the whole thing again!

best of luck!

ps. Used to own a carpet cleaning company! Do not use any product on your carpet.

Mop excess up with kitchen towel, then pour white vinegar onto stain. Mop after 15 mins (with kitchen towel) if their is still a stain repeat.

Soak up as much of the wine as you can. Use cold water to wet the stain, then use a little washing up liquid with again cold water, give it a good scrub.
Soak up the wetness. Cover area in bicarbonate of soda, leave for as long as possible. Removes odors and stains.
If this seems to have worked, let it dry and then hoover it up.
If not, more extreme measures may be needed. My go to for carpet stains is a little warm water in a bowl, add a little washing up liquid, little toothpaste, little bicarb and a little washing powder (clothes powder).
Wash the area with this.
Again soak up the wetness. And again, place bicarb on and leave to dry.

This method got red hair dye out of a carpet and a set of blinds! Dropped the bottle 🤦🏻‍♀️

Dr Beckmann is your friend here. An old friend once brought his new girlfriend over and she accidentally kicked a bottle of red wine onto our new cream carpet. Kitchen roll, damp tea towels and Dr Beckmann got it all out.

spotddog · 18/02/2023 06:55

Dr Beckmann carpet cleaner should remove it. I used Dr B soft furnishings shampoo on light colour sofa, red wine stain came out easily.

Yep, dr beckman

Boiling water.

I've done this and it works.

Boil a kettle and pour boiling water over the wine.

The steam will lift the wine.

Blot it with a clean towel - do not rub it, you are lifting the wine out of the carpet.

If necessary pour more boiling water and blot again.

You don't need huge amounts of boiling water and be carful you don't steam your fingers.

Vanish carpet cleaning foam is amazing.
I spilled a completely full glass of red wine and after 2 applications of this you couldn't tell where the spillage was
