End of Tenancy Cleaning

Hi everyone!

I'm new on here and had a question about end of tenancy cleans.

Next week I'm moving out of my rental and then getting on a flight. I'm wondering if a professional end-of-tenancy clean can still take place even though I'm not present. Is it a standard practice for the estate agent to be there to let the cleaner in?

Would really appreciate some advice as a first-time-renter!

Thank you!

Hello,

Unless you specifically make arrangements with the letting agent / landlord to arrange a cleaner after you left, you normally would need to have the property cleaned prior to handing back the keys to the letting agent or inventory clerk doing the check out. On top of this, I would photograph the property top to bottom, this is so you have proof of the condition of how you left the property to defend yourself against any unreasonable deductions from your deposit.

Hi,

no, once you hand the keys back that's you done. You'll need it cleaned before then and as pp said, you'll be well advised to take photos of the state it was left in so that you get your deposit back.
