Honking Toilet- the noise not the smell!

My toilet has started to 'honk' after flushing. So loudly all the popes vibrate. Opening the cold tap stops it immediately-any idea what could be causing it?

Those vibrating popes have to be even better than my "pendants" from yesterday! Now picturing a Catholic toilet adorned with icons...
