Powerful hoover

I'm looking for a really powerful hoover.

Ideally it wouldn't cost more than around £200.

We used to have a Henry which I think was amazing but it was a while ago so might be remembering incorrectly.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Miele cat and dog. I think you can get the older models for around £250.

Get another Henry, they are brilliant.

I bought a refurbished Henry a few years ago because the new ones have lower wattage. Brilliant piece of kit.
Can do without filters on other hoovers that inevitably get clogged.

Miele. Ours has such strong suction I can't actually use it without hurting my arms and back and now make my husband do all the vacuuming 😂

Miele. It'll pull your carpets up!

Happygone · 12/02/2023 19:12

The hoover 500 is pretty good. Never get a Dyson. They're shit.

Which Miele are people recommending? I'm so fed up with our Shark I'm considering throwing money at a Miele so I have a properly clean house again.

miele cat&dog.

if you have pets get one with the powered brush. but the regular one is great.

AlwaysLatte · 12/02/2023 19:28

We have the Miele cat and dog, and a corded Shark. They're both really good and pretty sucky.

Buzzer3555 · 12/02/2023 19:29

I recommend the hefty. She has a very powerful suck 😀

Buzzer3555 · 12/02/2023 19:30

Hetty

Highjinks01 · 12/02/2023 19:35

We have a shark and a cordless hoover. I’m about to buy another Hetty as neither of the other 2 can cope with cat litter, hair pins and detritus without getting blocked. Out Hetty was absolutely bomb proof and lasted years. Heavy though, but the only thing that copes with pets and kids!

Tomblibooz · 12/02/2023 19:37

Shark but needs to be the corded one. I have the lift-away so for doing stairs etc, it's as easy as cordless. Literally pulls your carpets up on max!

I bought the cx1 bagless. To replace my shark lift away which was so heavy I hated it. First time I turned it on I couldn't get the head off my wooden floor it was that sucky!

We have a shark one and with a cat and dog I'm loving it.

GlassBunion · 12/02/2023 22:29

Miele cat and dog. Serious suction.
