Currently looking to refresh my towels and trying to decide between M&S and IKEA range… would you recommend one over the other? are there other brands I should be considering? Not super cheap but around £10-12 per bath towel and also keen to pick up some bath sheets…
thank you 😊

Can't help with those brand, but I've found the John Lewis AnyDay towels very good. Amazon own brand too

However, as a curve ball, I now much prefer the thin hammam towels. They don't go crunchy, they're super absorbent, much quicker to wash and dry.

That’s interesting, I haven’t really considered those… will have a Google! Any particular brand?

Mitre Linen. Fabulous!

Someone on a Mumsnet thtead mentioned that Wilkos 'posh' towels were good.

Iheartmysmart · 10/02/2023 16:45

Believe it or not the best ones I’ve ever had are Asda. Preferably the lighter colours as the dark ones tend to shed for ages. They wash and tumble dry really well.

yoshiblue · 10/02/2023 16:47

I tend to have M&S towels, bedding all really good quality. I think they are better quality than IKEA IMHO

Rebellious23 · 10/02/2023 16:48

Asda and dunelm have both lasted me over 15 years

UWhatNow · 10/02/2023 16:52

I second Asda.

Trounlet · 10/02/2023 16:53

I second John Lewis, much much better than Sainsburys

I wouldn't recommend M&S towels. I bought some in 2016 on the basis that M&S = reasonable prices, good quality. By late 2018 they were spontaneously ripping.

I was single at the time with no children, they weren't subjected to any undue strains. I'm fussy with linens so they were well cared for - just used post bath/shower, hung up to dry and air, washed weekly and sun dried.

Not buying again - try Christy.

M&S bedding excellent though!

John Lewis and Heals in the sales. I've got Heals towels that are older than 11 year old DD - still going strong and come up like new. If you can wait for he 50% of sales do it.

They are some of my favourite things!
