Boring one but last night my glass worktop savers of which I have a few hit of my induction hob as I was cleaning it and chipped my hob 😞 my fault and now I have to fork out for a new induction hob
Kitchen is only a couple of years old and because I have a scatty dh who has been known to leave hot saucepans on the worktop I have to have a couple of worktop savers left out for quick access!

Dilemma is after accident last night I am now going to get rid of the glass savers but need something that looks nice there and will withstand heat so what do you use apart from glass ones?

I have a gas hob and had a couple of large glass worktop savers, but they were annoying because they didn't cover the whole hob (it's a range cooker). I now have two stainless steel sheets that covers the entire hob, or about half if I just want to use one or two burners. they can stand up behind the hob or sit on the worktop or over the sink for an extra surface.

Easy to clean and they have an edge so they stay in place - different sizes cut on eBay.

I'd keep the glass ones and just not clean them near the hob!
