Bleachable carpet

What does it really mean when a carpet is marketed as bleachable? Would you put neat bleach on it? I don’t understand, I’d have thought that would bleach the colour but then surely they couldn’t advertise it being bleachable if it faded the colour?

I have a carpet that should be bleachable, have some tea stains that Vanish isn’t working on so wondering what kind of bleach product I should try!

I am buying a bleachable carpet at the moment according tot he fitter and website the fabric can be cleaned with bleach and will not lose colour. you can clean it with a 50/50 mix of bleach and water. I know it will be ok but i alos know things go wrong for me so will get an offcut and try it with neat bleach and let it soak to test it. However, if i already had carpet i would just test it with diluted bleach in an inconspicuous place under a bit of furniture

My mum has bleachable carpet. She spilt something on it and couldn't get it off so decided it looked bad so had nothing to loose and bleached it. Stain came out, colour of carpet was fine.

ACurlyWurlyTail that reminds me, I do have an off cut so I can test on that, thank you!

fizzyfood fingers crossed we have the same! It’s funny because I’ve always found Vanish really good and it’s only tea so you’d have thought it would work.
