I am hoping this thread will prove to a few people that are are rather obsessed with their cleaning habit. I did one before, thought i added it to watched threads, but apparently i didn't.

How often in your house do you (or someone else like dp or cleaner):

Wash the towels?
Hoover,
upstairs?
downstairs?
the stairs?
Dust each room upstairs?
downstairs?
Clean bath/shower?
tiles?
bathroom floor?
Clean the upstairs toilet?
sink?
downstairs toilet? (if you have one)
sink?
Clean the oven?
hob?
microwave?
kitchen sink?
wipe front of cupboards?
wipe tiles?
kitchen floor?

OMG not often enough obviously.

choccypig · 06/02/2008 14:51

Just looking at the list makes me feel guilty. . The only thing I might be OK on is cleaning Hob, cos its stainless steel and I like it to look nice, and toilet, cos I have to do that after DS or DP. I'm too ashamed to admit to anything else.. but not ashamed enough to log off and do it now.

madamez · 06/02/2008 14:54

Mercy, oh and how much housework does your DH do? SOunds like you do enough to be getting on with: housework is something most women do far too much of (not just because they live with lazy men, but because they have been brainwashed into believing that far more housework should be done than is actually necessary).

JingleyJen · 06/02/2008 14:58

Madamez - I have to say that the list above is done by either/both me and Dh depends who has done the dishwasher or who has bathed the boys. who wiped DS's bum and saw the mess left behind.
Dh usually changes the beds.
Not about brainwashing here just about wanting to know where things are and that they are clean and ready to use.

Mercy · 06/02/2008 15:16

Madamez, dh does very little in the way of cleaning but tbh I don't find it takes that long anyway (especially now ds is at nursery 5 mornings). Plus I'm a sahm and dh works full-time so I expect to do the bulk of that. It's the other stuff that I find takes up my time - the stuff before and after school - and it's really the cooking that really annoys me. He's so bloody irritating about it. Anyway, must head for school now - will no doubt be back here soon!!
