Top stain removal tips please

Hi

Any tips on how I can best remove stains from thick white fabric please?

I seem to have kicked up dirt/grit all over the back of a nice pair of white trousers! Think it's from when the gritters spray the icy roads with that red stuff.

Iv tried stain away, vanish, fairy liquid, normal detergent, soaking them overnight in the vanish...the stain is still visible, though lighter.

Any other ideas that have definitely worked for you?

White shaving foam.

If they are white leave them in a bowl with water mixed with Milton Sterilising Fluid. It's a v weak bleach solution.

I had a stain I couldn’t shift on a white table cloth recently. Third attempt I used the astonish spray, and put 2 sheets of the Dr beckman detergent in and it came out spotless (I’d chucked in a few white shirts to make the load even and they came out looking amazing too🤷‍♀️).

I’ve had a lot of success with WHITE vinegar - although haven’t had to try it on exactly the type of stain you mention @Dacadactyl - but worth a go if you have some?

In the summer, one of my clients trod blueberries into her white rug, and it did the trick beautifully (scrape residue, add a couple of drops, blot dry with white kitchen roll, repeat, then rinse and blot dry).

Also highly successful on red wine, plus grass and mud stains from dogs paws.

Btw, I mentioned blotting with WHITE kitchen roll - my DSis (who is usually very smart) had a mad moment and used a bright red sheet of Renova to blot a stain … the red colour transferred, and she blamed me for not being clear!
