Room covered in dust

I have a room where everything is covered in light dust. Not thick write your name in dust but light dust on everything.

Any tips on how to de-dust this? When I've used a damp cloth in the past the dust is so airborne it settles and sticks again, maybe I need to hoover and dust for a few consecutive days?

Hoover it with the attachment.

Yes just keep repeating and use a vacuum cleaner with a good filter.

Do you know why it's so dusty? Do you have any unsealed walls, old carpets, open fire, or recent building work for example?
