How to destain loo seat?!

Grateful for any thoughts on this! Hesitant to use bleach because for one thing I'm allergic to it, plus it can in itself create yellow stains.

Also wondering whether I should just get a new loo seat! It would need to be a white one, to fit in with the rest of the loo and bathroom. Does anyone know whether there are any types of white loo seat that don't stain?!

Magic sponges cheap or otherwise get stains of floo seats

teafor12 · 09/01/2023 08:26

Thank you! Where do you get them?!

Pound shop or Amazon is where I get mine from.

teafor12 · 09/01/2023 15:51

Thanks! Do you use a product with them for getting stains off?!

Just wet them and rub. No such thing as a stain proof loo seat in my experience.

Take the seat off. Turn it upside down and place in bath. Wet it with shower spray. Sprinkle bio laundry powder over. Get a toothbrush and give it a scrub so that it becomes a paste. Leave for as long as you can. Overnight if poss.

That's the best solution IMO.

I agree with magic erasers. They work a treat

Highlyflavouredgravy · 09/01/2023 23:01

What on earth is happening in the bathroom that the loo seat is staining???😱

teafor12 · 11/01/2023 09:02

@Davros Do you use them just with water or with a cleaning product?

House full of sloppy males?

Just water

Northernsoullover · 11/01/2023 09:24

When I was a cleaner, the student houses tended to have loo seats stained with fake tan!

tocahairchop · 11/01/2023 09:27

I did this very thing last week and it worked a treat. Mix white vinegar and bicarbonate of soda into a paste and put a layer on to the stain, leave for about 30 minutes and then wipe/scrub off

SpookyBlackCat · 11/01/2023 09:30

Is there anyone else in the house who could bleach it for you?

If you have young kids, I wouldn’t worry so much about it matching. I’d replace with a darker color.

It depends on why it’s stained.

Twizbe · 11/01/2023 09:31

The pink stuff. I was amazed at how well it cleaned the toilet seat.

Davros · 11/01/2023 17:12

No need to mix up pastes or use bleach

Blahblablahblahblah · 12/01/2023 01:03

Pink works well and get people to drink more water.

Nicecow · 12/01/2023 01:23

Just get a new one!

Floralnomad · 12/01/2023 01:25

The yellow stains on the underside of loo seats is caused by limescale from water droplets spraying up when you flush so a limescale remover should work .

Thefailinghousewife · 12/01/2023 02:06

Life is too short to be scrubbing a stained loo seat Envy (unless it’s fake tan, which doesn’t turn my stomach so much!)

Scarzo · 12/01/2023 02:12

You could try Bar Keepers Friend.
