Lost my routine..

I don't know how to get back into the swing of things..
What's people's weekly routines?
I have lost the sense of everything lately & I don't know how or why!
I'm struggling to juggle everything.
Just don't seem to have enough hours in the day.
From working all day, then finding the time to do kids homework/reading, cooking, laundry & housework.
I'm lucky to have a supportive husband but just need to get back into routine.
Can anyone help?

I like the TOMM system of level 1 jobs that you do every day (I do 5 mins in the bathroom before work and 15 mins laundry, dishwasher and wiping the kitchen surfaces after work, and we have a roomba). Then there are level 2 jobs, where you do a half hour clean each day in a different room, in our family whichever parent isn't doing bedtime does this.

When I stay on top of things (which I definitely don't always) it works well.

I was going to suggest the TOMM level 1 jobs as well.

Sort your priorities. We have cats, so daily vacuuming is essential. I care about what I eat, so meal planning, shopping and cooking are important. A lot of pet food and cleaning stuff on subscriptions. I do try to keep hard floors mopped, but this is less important to me that the rugs and carpets. I like my own list rather than an app.

Only do a load of washing if you can get it dry and put away within a day. 1st of the month or thereabouts, I descale everything and put salt in dishwasher. Keep everything simple - don't wear anything that can't be machine washed. I don't follow this rule with the dishwasher, but I would if I was struggling to keep up.

For me, the biggest help to getting organised has been getting rid of stuff - some small items, but also furniture, so it's much easier to clean. Keep surfaces clear if you can, and have a home for everything.

Two people blitzing for 15 mins together can get more done than two separate 15 sessions, or one person working along for 30 mins, I find.

A 3rd person saying Tomm level ones. I don't stick to her other routines.. BUT I do do my kitchen clean weekly with her free clean along podcast and it has massively cut down on how long I take! I also do her thing of doing the bathrooms a bit each day rather than one weekly clean. Makes sense to do a bit after my shower and a bit when my child is in the bath. Not worth me doing the rest of the routines as my daughter is a tornado and it makes more sense for me to clean as I go.

Thank you, I have never heard of TOMM before..
Where I've also been poorly it's just completely knocked me out of sync & also the Christmas period hasn't helped.
I really struggle with motivation but love a tidy organised house.
I can't remember for the life of me what I used to do before but I need to find something that works & that I can fit everything in!
Just feel like there's never time to sit down & take 5 minutes break.

I have just looked this up & I have downloaded all her printable documents so that should be a massive help!
Thank you so much, I can't believe I've never heard of this before!

www.rockthehousework.co.uk/

TOMM does rock the housework podcasts. There are some free samples at the bottom of the home page, the others are a subscription service on patreon for £3.60 per month. Some are designed to follow TOMM, some are general household tasks. I've kept on top of things much better since she launched them last year because I want to listen to her talking me through, and she cuts out so much of the overwhelming decision making. I just have to decide on the room, time and task and then listen.
