Duvet protector, yes or no?

I recently purchased a wool duvet. My previous duvet (which was an old one from a family member) ended up with yellow stains on it, not sure if that was sweat or what. But I got rid of it and puchased this one.

Do you think a duvet protector would be a good idea, or should it be fine just in a duvet cover? Do the protectors rustle a lot due to the material and would it be best for the wool to "breathe"? thanks

Got one a couple of years back as cat was ill and kept being sick on our bed. Was noisy as helll, but was a waterproof one so might make a difference. Also didn't spend too much on it, but was cheaper than getting duvet cleaned every 2 weeks!

I use a cotton duvet protector -bought from Dunelm - that allows the duvet to breathe. I wash it every 6 months or so. Def recommend.

Bought one from Dunelm and wrestled duvet into it so will see how it goes, thanks!
