Mouldy grout - do those pens work?

The grout in my bathroom is always a horrible orangey brown mould colour and i cannot shift the stuff - bleach, mould remover and scrubbing with a toothbrush (an old one!) makes no impact.

I've seen those white grout pens in homebase - do they work short to medium term or will the mould be back next morning? (long term i will be re-tiling but not at this stage of pregnancy!)

Otherwise anyway of shifting the mould i am happy to try! Thanks

They do work pretty good, bit if it's mouldy rather than discoloured maybe you can just scrape it out and re grout? Or are you re-tiling quite soon? Anyway, I used one in my bathroom and it looked really good, but you have to hold them downwards, squeeze ALOT and you use quite a few pens, but it's worth it short term definatly.

I would like to re-tile soon but that doesn't mean it will happen soon! Is it hard work scraping out grout?

I don't think so, think it sort of crumbles/flakes away - you can get a special knife thingy. Probably work out cheaper than the pens, I only half did mine as some bits were too bad even to colour in with the pen really (re-tiling soon (!?)) but abit more work to it. Get a normal knife and scrape a more hidden bit, you'll see how hard it is then.

no they very disappointing

get a quote for a tiler to regrout or retile - might not be as bad as you think
