I've been using this for a while now, and while I like the product in terms of packaging and environmental claims, am not 100% convinced on effectiveness. Tomato stains and other unidentifiable marks adorn DDs collars and cuffs, plus my machine has been a bit smelly. Have run a cycle with vinegar, which seems to have helped.
Should I switch to the bio version? Is it better?
Have tried soap nuts (didn't like them), and wasn't too thrilled with ecover. Besides, Simply is much cheaper.
Opinions please.

i have too! Don't have a problem with stains but have noticed the machine being smelly! I had put it down to the nappy washing-i'm not sure what to do to clean the machine?

A wash with vinegar or soda crystals is supposed to help. I've yet to pluck up courage to look at the filter. Have also noticed sometimes the powder tabs don't completely dissolve. Might just check website and bump this for evening bods.

I'll try that them-thanks!
Haven't noticed them not dissolving although sometimes they get stuck at the front for a while early in the wash-but it sorts itself out after a while.

I only use the Bio Tabs as you need the enzymes in them to break down the stains, i personlly have never used non-bio and OH who works in the industry doesn't rate them either.

You can put the Simply tabs in the drawer of the machine thats the way i have been using them, so dissolving problems havent been an issue.

I always do a maintenace wash once a month, by running it empty on its highest temp with a normal dose of bio powder, no smelly washing machine for me.

This atricle tells the difference between bio and non bio.

Thanks, that's really helpful. Will order the biological tablets next time I think and give them a go.
