Storage - strong good quality coloured opaque large plastic

Inspired with all the talk of decluttering, I’m looking for plastic storage boxes.

I want string ones. Had flimsy ones and they crack and look tatty after a while.

I bought ine from the useful box company and it’s thick and strong.

i Will but some more , but was also wanting some coloured boxes.

I get people like clear to see what’s in it, but I’d also like some coloured opaque plastic so I can’t see what’s in there !

the useful company only has small boxes like this or larger but dull coloured .

any suggestions ?

Do you mean strong, not string?!

Do you need lids/stackable, or could this sort of thing work?

Really useful do opaque coloured boxes too. You'll probably have to order them online though as I've only ever seen the colourless transparent ones in shops (or in the tiny size the colour transparent).

https://www.reallyusefulproducts.co.uk/uk/html/colours.php

The following solid colours are currently available:

solid red
solid gold
solid British racing green
solid blue
solid USA blue
solid neon pink
solid silver
solid black (recycled material)
solid white

All boxes don't come in 'solid' colour though. Scroll down to the bottom of the link and there is a pdf that lists all the boxes with which colours are available.

ah - sorry - just read that you know that already but don't want a dull colour (black being the most widely available solid colour)! No idea in that case then!

Coppergate · 02/01/2023 19:25

Actually, there are quite few sizes in solid red and solid blue - no good?

Nitgel · 02/01/2023 19:30

Muji but they are opaque white, stackable and look good tho

I’ll take a look. It’s more opaque , not solid. So I’ve seen they do opaque ones but small. Want larger boxes, so sort of 80 litres size.

they do larger in their strong range, but it’s a solid colour.

the table is hard to read, but I.l see if it’s better on. My laptop.

thanks

Would prefer the opaque rather than solid. So can see a little bit not clear where can see everything .

The opaque also looks lighter if that makes sense, so not so solid and bulky looking.

Have found this company , but reviews seem mixed in their strength

www.diy.com/departments/4-x-wham-crystal-80l-stackable-plastic-storage-lid-tint-spectrum-blue/5057604504965_BQ.prd

it’s this sort of look, but I’d like the quality of the really useful ones . Only bought one , in clear, and it’s good quality . So looking for something with same quality.

I’m a bit confused now… opaque to me is solid.

The purple one you’ve linked is transparent (so not opaque).

This 84L really useful box comes in loads of colours - transparent and opaque.

Right, I’ve now looked at the chart and seen on the website they do quite a few in co,ours. When I looked at the sight before it wasn’t obvious , the pics were all clear for the big boxes and I didn’t notice they did colours. thanks !

Sorry I meant coloured clear ones, so it’s tinted a colour so not quite as see through as plain clear .

Thanks. I missed this when first looked at their site , and most online suppliers don’t do the colours . You have been really helpful. Even with me getting my description muddled !

No problem - I enjoy a bit of storage!

They don’t make it easy by using ‘clear’ to mean colourless, which can also be taken to means transparent (see through).

Hope your organising goes well!

I’m spending too much time deciding on storage options and not Noughty doing the actual sorting !

And yes , the use of clear and transparent is not always …clear !

😁That will be fun to play with … until you see the cost of your creation! Might help focus the decluttering though!

Where are you planning to put the boxes?
