I just feel like there’s no time and I’m so overwhelmed even thinking about a routine but the state of my house is making me so sad.

We’ve got a very active 9mo and I work 4 days a week 9-5 and DP works weekdays and weekends so there’s never really any opportunity to get time to do much. DS rarely naps, On good days I get one nap a day from about 11-1pm on the three days I’m home with him, which I guess is where the routine will fit. I spend a fair bit of time just tidying after him to make the house not look like a complete dump and making sure bottles are clean. I guess there’s not much time left with the bottles though 🤞🏻

Could people please share any routine/ structure/ mild outline of what they do with limited time, Thanks xxx

No advice, but I also wonder when people find the time to have a spotless house. I have 3 kids and work 4 days a week. DP works full time. Just doing the minimum household chores (to ensure we have clean clothes, food and something clean to eat off) already takes a big chunk of my time. I don’t want to spend all my “spare” time doing housework.

I think the answer is if both people work full time or near enough, there just isn’t enough time. I just had a deep clean done and it took nearly 8 hours (2 cleaners 4hrs each) there is no way I would have the time nor inclination to do that myself regularly. The cleaner herself said she has a cleaner as she works full time.

Just give yourself some grace right now OP. Do little bits where you can and accept that your child will not remember a grubby house. In a few years you’ll be out of the parenting trenches and you can re prioritise
