Dyson hand held or Vax

Just a quick question as I've realised this has been asked numerous times.

I'm buying a cordless hoover.

The reviews are so varied!

Shark/Dyson or Vax?

I want power/suction. It's a lot of money to spend so I'd appreciate knowing what others think.

My handheld Dyson is ok but I'm not completely sold on it. I do love a hand held though, I definitely vacuum more often. I regularly change the filter which helps. Think I'll go for a shark when I replace it, have heard they're better

The reviews are so mixed! Team Dyson rave about them & team shark similar. My friend has a shark and she said it's been nothing but issues since buying it.

I had a Dyson cordless, which was useless. I bought a vax blade four years ago and I absolutely love it, I would replace if it died. Customer services were really good too.

Also have a shark plug in which is good but not used the cordless so can't comment on that.

God no to Dyson. Don't waste your money. Best vacuums on planet are Meile, so get one of theirs.

Mumsnet hates Dyson so I would ask elsewhere as you won't get an unbiased opinion

I've got a Vax blade and love it. Can't fault it at all.

I've got a shark cordless and a vax blade, the vax beats the shark easily.

I was drawn to the vax as I currently have one and I love the power. I was concerned that a cordless one wouldn't be as powerful.

The battery doesn't last long but I don't think any of them do.
