TheMadHouse · 01/02/2008 15:44

Thanks for asking EHM She is on the mend and the bone has fused, but she is still in a lot of pain, but only takes painkillers at night. Her husband had to return to work last week, so she is on her own with the two children and only started driving the week previous.

Physically she is reallt on the mend, but mentally it is another thing. She has nightmares etc about the event and also the socalled friend who's house it was is blanking her, as she is taking legal action - so that is very messy.

I think she is getting on really well, espeically considering her youngest is the same age as my eldest (3 in March) and going through a nightmare stage ATM.

Her DH will be back next week for 3 weeks so it will give her chance to recharge her battreys.

BiancaCastafiore · 01/02/2008 16:42

wow, your friend is doing brillaintly TMH physically at least. I hope the nightmare etc fade with time x
Thanks for the link I'll look through it properly and try to order some bits

EHM thanks

Dd has a friend back, and so does ds so I'm in playdate hell!
Got dd and friend a dvd (some awful looking Barbie film) from the library but they haven't even asked to watch it yet, they're too busy dressing up and annoying the boys
The boys are getting the gorls back with their lightsabres

Once the friends have gone (30mins or so) I'll do bathtime and try to clear out old bath toys then the kids have a lazy supper in front of the telly as a Friday treat
I'm still going to make a nice supper for dh as he'll be home to eat before he works again...maybe I'll be able to do some talking then..

see you all later x

BiancaCastafiore · 01/02/2008 16:44

...and I've said it before but will say it again - thank you all for being such a lovely supportive bunch I know I'm a moany so-and-so alot of the time, I appreciate you all being here to put up with me!

TheMadHouse · 01/02/2008 16:48

HiYa Bianca I love my FLYladies. You all give mack so much support when needed - it is also my lifeline, so feel free anytime.

To quote Eels (like Groucy last week) "Life is hard, but so I am I, you better give me something before I die. Novacaine for the soul, before I splutter out.

well you lot are my Novacaine.

Tea is in the oven for the boys. Fish and oven chips - it is friday. DH is on his way home in all the snow and wind and the boys are watching the Incredibles.

Lmccrean · 01/02/2008 17:19

Bianca Re your dd, have the school actually done anything? DD was being picked on by P2 boys (pulling her trousers down, hitting, tripping her up) I went to the teacher (well, dd and her best friend told her - I was there for support!) and the same day all the p2 boys got a lecture on bullying and the offenders had to give a speech on why it was wrong. No trouble since then, and another mum has come over to say the boys were harrassing her dd but have now stopped thanks to dd reporting it. I told dd this and I see a big difference in her behaviour in mornings - shes feeling v empowered I think.

Glad she seems to be having a great time with her friend

Ive done v little work, and no excuses to stop, as not looking stormy enough for powercut tonight (darn it)

Still have to clear dining table and sort bits box (half done). Teas in oven along with some freezer cookies (yum) and wine is chilling. woohoo!

Night ladies!

BiancaCastafiore · 01/02/2008 18:24

Lmc The school are well aware and the offenders are suffering as a result (limited playtime etc) A couple of other girls have been the victims this week too so at least dd isn't feeling like the only one being got at She's very happy this evening and is enjoying a long bath (ds got out early) - she's in there singing and soaping herself up with some sickly sweet LUSH soap she got for Christmas
I'm aiming for a fresh start again at school on Monday

DontDreamItBeIt · 01/02/2008 18:47

I've read all the thread, but had to go out before I posted, so I've forgotten most of it, apart from biancas dd. I do hope things improve for her next week, and if not there are lots of good ideas for things to perk her up a bit on here.
WRT your dh, avoidance is a well known technique for dealing wih emotional issues imo.

DP has done lots of housework today, but I'd rather he got his ac together and did the building work.
DD1s bed will be delivered nex week, so hopefully I can at least get her into her own room and make some space in the big room for the other two.

Oh yes....welcome Mickey

tortoise · 01/02/2008 21:04

Evening all. Tis very cold this evening! Brrr!

Today has been ok with Mickey. last night was hell. He hated being left downstairs alone and kept barking and whining. In the end i gave in and let him upstairs and he slept on my bed! Kept me awake alot when he kept getting up to sniff around (wondered if it was a mouse smell s found dropping before). No idea what to do tonight. Don't really want him upstairs every night. there isn't room for him to sleep anywhere really but i can't be doing with barking all night.

He is being very good tonight and is muzzle free so far! he is spralled out on his bed not bothing to touch anything fluffy!

Poor DD1 has been coughing all most non stop all day, poor girl. And its making her head hurt. Asleep on the sofa at the moment.

Bianca Poor DD. Hope things improve for her next week. Lots of good advice on here already! Also hope you are/have managed to have a good chat with DH. I am also around if you ever what a chat/moan/cry! and ((( hugs )))

EHM · 01/02/2008 21:20

tort hope you have a better night with Mickey & that dd's cough improves.

Thanks EHM might just take him up with me to save any hassles! Or is that taking the to easy route?? i don't know what to do!!
Sorry to hear about your friends dad.

EHM · 01/02/2008 21:28

Thanks about friends dadThats what the baby whisper would call accidental parenting. apparantly thats what me & dh are with ellie. we have brought her into our bed as the easy option. do what you feel is right. Personally I can't function without sleep so go for it! we've done the same with cats in the past

OP posts:
tortoise · 01/02/2008 21:30

All mine have slept in my bed lol. I am so lazy once i am in bed, i hate getting out. I might be able to make a big enough space by my bed. He does like to stretch out though.

EHM · 01/02/2008 21:35

i remember when I lived with my gran in scotland her dog pal(now passed away)would come into my bed & lay across my feet. he was the best hot water bottle & a lovely old dog. pets are part of the family mia one of our cats would sleep between me & dh before ellie arrived. (she thought she was a real live boy!) funnily enough vic appeared in our bedroom on Monday night the first time is years. ellie thought this was great on tuesday morning when I brought her through & showed her vic was a sleep at the bottom of our bed.

Evening

No chats with dh but I am gearing up for one later

Watching Echo Beach atm

Glad you got the cards EHM, sorry we took so long to send them Sorry to hear about your friends dad

Tort I was firm with our cat when we first got him and am pleased - he now sleeps shut in the utility room with no trouble A barking dog is very diffent to a kitten though - good luck for tonight

BiancaCastafiore · 01/02/2008 21:46

...I'm less firm with the dcs though - ds still comes into our bed frequently!

tortoise · 01/02/2008 21:48

lol Bianca. Yes cat is very different. Whining i could cope with but big loud barks are different. Hope you get to have your chat

EHM Aww thats so sweet. Mickey was led with his head on the pillow last night!!

BiancaCastafiore · 01/02/2008 21:50

Just seen your other thread...do you have room for a dog bed under/next to your bed?

tortoise · 01/02/2008 21:53

Possibly next to the bed if her doesn't stretch out to much . Need to move the pile of clothes waiting to be put away though.

BiancaCastafiore · 01/02/2008 21:55

aha, a good reason to get FLYing

tortoise · 01/02/2008 21:57

yeah!
Will pile it on ds's bed for tonight!

BiancaCastafiore · 01/02/2008 21:59

...or...

..here's an idea...

...you could just

put them away

tortoise · 01/02/2008 22:00

But its a bit late to do it now isn't it??? Plus coughing dd1 needs me close by!

BiancaCastafiore · 01/02/2008 22:02

aww now now, you're just making excuses!
