Bosch dishwasher

Does anyone have a Bosch dishwasher with the cutlery tray? I have just bought one to replace our old Miele one, which also had a tray at the top, but I can’t figure out how to load it. Cutlery seems to jump out of the slots no matter how carefully I position it. I’d be grateful for any advice!

Perhaps not what you want to hear. We sent it back as not fit for purpose. This we coupled with too noisy and the cutlery tray limited the size of plates. We got a model up from that which has a cutlery basket in the bottom plate basket. If you can't return it, how about getting a cutlery basket?

Thanks for your response - a basket is worth thinking about.

I am thinking now that I will avoid buying one of these when I next need a new dishwasher. I've seen this a few times.

Cutlery basket all the way for me, I guess.

Have Bosch with cutlery tray works very well. You can adjust the level of the upper cup tray to have larger plates, even remove for very large pots.

How do you arrange your cutlery?

We've got one and have no problems with it at all. Load the cutlery side on with the handles pointing towards the sides of the machine.
When (very occassionally) we need extra height, we just remove the tray.

I like the cutlery tray on mine now I'm used to it (I put the handles facing the sides of the machine, and use every other slot) but I hate the machine, it's been nothing but trouble, with constant errors messages. I've had three separate people out to look at it, but it always goes wrong again. I'm having a new kitchen next year and it's going!

Maximist Did you use a Bosch engineer?

I did the first time, when it was still under warranty. After that they were too expensive so I used locals. I'm not spending another penny on it though, I'll wash up if need be until I get buy a new one.

you can get a basket if you want one (lakeland sell them for example).

the tray works fine for us for the day to day stuff but things with big handles, like seeving spoons struggle.

I really like mine.
Stack similar items together so that we can just grab them all together to out back in the drawer when clean.
Picture is about half full.
Sometimes bigger cutting knives get knocked over, but still clean fine.
