Descaling a fixed shower head

I think my shower head needs to be descaled (hard water area). I have investigated and it doesn’t seem to screw off or anything. Only option I can think of (which I have done before) is to tie a bag with descaler around it. Am I missing some trick?

Has no one else had this unexciting problem? Just me? 😅

That's the way I would do it (and have).

Thanks @TheFormidableMrsC
i was just hoping there was some hack I have missed…. It’s such a stupid design. I feel I should write a book - “these are all the mistakes I made when renovating my house - don’t make the same mistakes!”

If it's got a brand name they usually have instructions online for putting up.

Sometimes there's tiny sunken screws where you can't see them. We had those on our shower. Then it turned out you could screw off the inner part of the rose :-)

I might pop up to the bathroom supplies shop at some point and ask them.

I fill a little bag with no holes with white wine vinegar and put it over the shower head so the actual shower head is in the solution and use elastic bands to secure for an hour or two and then remove

I have the same issue. Stupid design. I spray it with white vinegar in a spray bottle and leave overnight. Try not to stand underneath while spraying though, like I did the first time ....
