Aga problem

Hello Everyone
Someone helpful has managed to insert my oven shelf upside down and back to front! It’s now totally jammed. Can anyone advise me please? Desperate! X

Just to say that I know nothing about Agas other than what I'd learned from a friend of nearly 40 years ago.
Im assuming that your Aga is clearly constantly on. Heat expansion would make it nigh on impossible to remove the shelf. I'd assume that your Aga would need to be stone cold in order to slide the shelf out.

I firmly expect that these words are completely unhelpful to you.

Maybe a chat with Aga themselves? They might be able to help but I suspect it'll be a pricey call out.

If you've recently moved and acquired it or something. Then yes, turn it off and try (and see if someone is willing to service at the same time).

But I can slide my shelf in/out upside down and there is no difference back/front, so do you mean the cooling sheet? Is it a sheet of metal or a rack?
The cooling rack if it's near the top, poke the back up with the longest wooden stick you can find (broom handle, big spoon) and pull, repeat for each notch. If it's near the bottom, basically the same it'll just be harder (and I'd probably burn myself). Once it's out a bit you should be able to manage by just pushing down on the front.

Thank you Guys. I think you’re right about the Aga being too hot atm. The problem is that the shelf is now crooked. I’ll turn her off in the Spring and see if I can get the shelf out. Otherwise the engineer route is probably best. Thank you 😊 👍

This might not be helpful, but I had exactly this happen to me, and no one could get the shelf out. It took me sitting there, taking deep breaths, and calmly wiggling to get the exact angle to get it out. (Maybe do it on a day when you're feeling cold!!). Good luck!
