Help! I seem to have spent ages researching and reading reviews and need to make a decision! We have tiled floors and I have a bad back so the floor isn't get cleaned as often as I would like. I've been looking at spray and steam mops but can't decide. Will I get a better result with less effort with a steam mop? Does anyone have any recommendations?

I hated my steam mop! Chucked it out

I have both and use both. Spray mop for the wooden floors not suitable for steam or for quick once over. Steam mops for deeper clean of kitchen and bathroom floors. Also great for cleaning other things as the tank lifts out and has various attachments. I’ve had our shark one for over 6 years now.

@BooksAndHooks Which Shark mop do you have? There seems to be a huge price range in their models. I'm liking the look of their steam and scrub one.

@Comedycook Why did you hate yours? Looking at reviews there are many reviewers that seem to have several steam moos. I'm wondering if it's because they break quickly or they don't like them and replace with another model.

It’s the lift away one we have, although as it is over six years old the newer ones might have evolved.

Steam mops are a faff, spray mops are so quick and easy

I had a Vax steam mop but it lasted just over a year before dying. It was crap anyway, it did not get things clean without a lot of elbow grease. I now have a spray one and it works really well.

Vileda spray mop is great to keep on top of things.

I had a steam mop. It cleaned brilliantly if something was really dirty. But it was too much of a faff getting it out so I never used it and gave it away. I replaced it with a spray mop which I love using because it's so simple and can use it every day.

Spray mop fan. I have a beldray one with noodle mop heads which just Velcro on. So easy and just throw the pad in the washing machine once mopped.

Thank you. Have decided on a spray mop for now.
