Laundry baskets - how many compartments

And how do you organise it?

In reality we do wash loads of lights, darks, dog stuff, whites and towels. But no one has separate baskets or compartments for all that do they! What do you do, have one basket and sort it when it's full enough to surely do one load?

I do not separate laundry, never really have- we have no whites so everything goes in together and its all fine.
