How to clean a mattress

I have just woken up to find ds1 in my bed, wet. He's got in my bed, fallen asleep and weed 😔

I did have a drynites bed mat on that side but it's somehow moved down the bed abd the wee missed it altogether.

It really smells. I've dabbed with kitchen roll, and sprinkled bicarb on it with a bit of washing powder, and put a bedmat absorbant side down on it.

What can I do tomorrow to properly clean it?

I have no advice, but just wanted to say poor you. Hope you get back to sleep. Hope I do too!

Thanks. I was fast asleep when dc2 came in after a bad dream, and woke me up. I could smell it. 😩 and now of course I am wide awake

I would use pet cleaner, it has enzymes that break the urine particles down I think.
Look for stuff that talks about cleaning soft furnishings after pet accidents.
Then I'd steam clean and it should be okay.
