What do you use to protect your sink?

Hi,
I'm getting a new undermount Franke sink and want to keep it nice but also want to use a washing up bowl. What do you use to protect your sink? A sink basket? Any recommendations or ideas? Thanks!

I don't get it - you want to protect your sink from the washing up bowl? Or you meant that you don't want to use one?

I've got composite sinks that are the easiest I've ever had for keeping clean, but I still use washing up bowl. Uses less water (on water meter and cutting back on energy.

Lots on MN seem to hate washing up bowls, but I don’t understand why!

I think people just don't understand the point of them!

I've had to have one for a while as the plug was missing in our new house and I struggled to find a replacement. I hated the bowl, it was harder to keep clean than the sink (always seemed a bit greasy), large things didn't fit in it, it was just a pain in the arse. I've now found a replacement plug that works so the bowl has been banished to the shed.

I've never felt the need to protect a sink from anything.
