How often do you clean your carpets?

Considering getting someone in to have them all done for Christmas. But we have young children under 5 and I'm almost certain I'll instantly regret it and it'll make me on edge. I vaxed them myself a couple of years ago but cannot face that again!

Once a year except 2020 because nobody was going to visit. Having said that, we only actually do one room and it’s man’s work.

Not enough.

Carpet shampooer is in the loft behind the Christmas tree.

Have hard floors downstairs so it’s just upstairs.

Once a year and I spot clean in between. It's a pain as you need to move your furniture (unless you want them to go around it) and then you can't walk on it until dry. I always do it in spring/summer. They also use harsh chemicals so think about that with the kids.

Every 8 weeks or so, I have a Bissell Proheat that does a good enough job and leaves the carpets almost dry. I don't do the upstairs carpets as often as they don't get the footfall that downstairs does.

I get mine done professionally before Christmas every year and often around June too. They are cream and look so much better after!
