Colour Catchers dyed my bras purple??

I accidentally washed a white bra with a load of red jumpers the other day. I put a colour catcher in out of habit. The bra came out white but with some purple blotches on, which I thought was a little odd as I thought it would all go pink, but whatever. Today I washed a different bra with an old purple and white top (so the purple shouldn't run). Bra came out with purple blotches on it again. Same shade of purple as the other bra, despite being in with different colours. The colour catcher sheets I used are this exact shade of purple, so I'm thinking it must be the colour catchers have done it? Has anyone else had this? And why are the sheets purple now when they used to be white? I don't really care about the bras but I'm glad it didn't happen to any of my other clothes!

This happened to me with red school jumpers in with white school polos.
I didn't have enough washing for a white load so put a colour catcher to stop the ref jumpers turning everything pink.
The polos came out with purple blotches all over them uuughhhh

I had a packet of vamoosh whitener (that is meant to be for whitening bras actually) so I put the polos in with that solution and they came out white again thankfully as they were brand new.

Never used a colour catcher since as I don't trust them now but some of my friends swear by them and use them all the time so I'm not sure if I did something wrong

That sounds odd, what brand are they?

Like you I've only ever seen white ones

The purply colour catchers are supposed to revive your colours. They’re shite.

My colour catchers are white!

The Dr. Beckmann Re-usable Colour Collector Cloths are really good. They are just like a flannel but seem to catch all the dye
