How to get blu tack off of carpet?

DS has helpfully spread it all over our cream carpet and it's already dried any magic solutions?

There was a tip about this on Dirty Home Rescue last night (ok, it was chewing gum but same consistency). Put an ice cube on it and leave it for a bit, the gum will harden and can be peeled off. Depends on exactly how much he has spread as to whether that's practical.

It's in tiny little blobs all over the carpet, so just makes it look really dirty! It's absolutely crap carpet anyway, but this really doesn't help. Will try the ice cube trick!

WD40-but try it in a place that isn't very visible first!
