Dear MNers, can any of you recommend a good carpet sweeper?
Manual, not electric, for rugs...old handmade Persian rugs...not hard floors, and reasonably robust. Price up to approx.£30. Recommendations please!

Oh wow, that takes me back! I haven’t seen or used a carpet sweeper since the 80s. My mum and all her friends used to rate U-bank (not sure if that’s how it’s spelled) but things may have moved on since then.

They have indeed moved on. It's Ewbank, but that doesn't matter.
I saw one being used last weekend, in a NT property, which is what reminded me I need one!

I think mine is a forerunner to this one :Amazon
Mine doesn’t claim to do hard floors but they all seem to now. The scrapy tool is useful.

No. Ignore that. It’s this onehttps://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07WP2W39W?psc=1&th=1&linkCode=gs2&tag=mjnewuk-21
It’s fine.

I think it works best on tightly- woven, short pile old rugs.
I expect most will be ok. Good luck!
