If I’m flagging, I get myself domestically aroused by sticking on some cleaning porn such as ‘How Clean Is Your Home’ and the like. It quickly gets me in the mood.

For instance, about ten days ago I watched ‘The Minimalists’ on Netflix and now I have a front room full of stuff that I am going to sell/recycle/dump later today.

Yep, how clean is your house or obsessive compulsive cleaners or a hoarder programme.

I also do this when I want to exercise and can't be bothered. Secret eaters, supersize v superskinny, my 600lb life etc. Put a bit of that on youtube and I'll be on my crosstrainer within half an hour.

I am aroused at the moment. I have just been to the tip, to the charity shop and am ironing eBay items. Then, some more porn before going at it hard on the cleaning front.

Gloucester15 I just checked out Scandish. That’s high class porn right there. I must admit after watching Dirty House Rescue yesterday I was a bit non plussed about that particular series and I think this is more to my taste.

Well I say non plussed but actually I was a bit upset. The house on DHR was beyond disgusting it was a health hazard and apparently there were two boys who lived there with the mum that you didn’t see and I got quite down about that thought.

Then presenter Hayley came up with her ‘C and D system’ which, wait for it, means ‘clean first disinfect after’, in case you couldn’t guess. Obviously due to the system’s complexity Hayley deems it requires an acronym.

still, the see through jars they used have encouraged me to decant my muesli into an old coffee jar that I put through the dishwasher. It looks nicer that way than leaving it all in the packets.

I think I've seen the rainbow women show - I didn't find it satisfying as it all just seemed to be a lot of effort, time and consumption of new storage to make an area pretty but impractical - I think the episode I saw they spent hours sorting a kid's lego into rainbow colours.

Plus they over-labelled - no one needs to label a glass jar, that's why you use glass so you can see what's in it.

I've recently fallen into a professional cleaner rabbit hole on tiktok. There's a duo who work in the next town over who post a lot and have loads of finishing touches. I'd love for them to come and clean my house but as it is I'm left to buff my own bath taps and trying to learn toilet roll origami.

They get so much done in 2 hours whereas it's taken me from 9am to 3pm today for me to clean my house to an ok-ish standard.

as this thread seems to have been resurrected; I kept getting the Finnish lady with bright DM style boots and very tight braids on my Insta but she did grab my attention coz she was cleaning small neglected rooms whereas to be fair a blooming dressing room/pantry/playroom/garage aren't relatable to me and just make me sad, I love how she seems to genuinely enjoy it which on a good day I do too. did I notice that Cheyza (sp) from OG UK cleaning porn turned up on dirty house rescue or whatever it was unthread or am I being silly? yes I'm sure I could Google but it's a discussion 😋

I think that’s where Cheyza came from: She was an OCD cleaner and then got ‘promoted’ to professional and host. Has anyone come across ‘Peachy’? She reliably comes up with banal tips for organising that are positioned as ‘revolutionary’ and will happily spend at least 7 minutes explaining a concept that most three year olds could grasp in 7 seconds.
