Meile coffee machine cleaning

Does anyone use non Meile branded cleaning products to descale / clean the milk pipe work of their Meile built in coffee machine with no Detrimental effect ? The advice is to use only their cleaning products but the price difference to other products is significant !

I haven't yet as I'm still using the ones that came with it but I don't see why a cheaper one wouldn't work and will be looking when I start to run out

I know @Footgoose it really is a ridiculous price!

I teaspoon citric acid dissolved in water - we have really hard water, and this works well for everything. I used to boil a kettle, add citric acid and leave to cool. Pour into jug to descale coffee maker and then once it had pumped out back into the jug, into my iron.
