Best cordless vacuum?

SGChome20 · 20/10/2022 13:38

I’ve decided I need a cordless vacuum but when I went to look at them I got completely overwhelmed with all the options. I’ve narrowed it down to a dyson or a shark but there seems to be so much choice still.
we don’t have pets but may get a dog in the future. Would like it to be fairly lightweight, average sized house but it’s really just for zipping over so think 60 min runtime would be fine. Does anyone have any recommendations/preferences?

I've heard the Miele is better than both. That's my next purchase. I have a shark at the minute but it's not brilliant on stairs

I’ve had several Dysons and they do seem to break pretty quickly. Not worth the high coat IMO. Going to try a Miele next time.

Please don't waste your money on a dyson. I brought one 3 years ago for around £500 V10 Animal cordless and had nothing but issues, they are so sensitive if the tiniest bit of paper gets sucked up the lights will come up that something is blocked, then u have to take a few things apart just to empty it. It stopped working the other week when I called up dyson they told me I had to fork out £70 for a new battery 🤬
So I brought a cordless Miele instead for £400 and it is sooooo much better compared to crappy dyson.

Im really happy with my Shark anti-hair wrap. Light, multiple functions, good suction. Easy to swtich to handheld mode and easy to empty.

I agree with PP shark with anti hair wrap is brilliant.

Which anti-hair wrap models do you have? There seems to be a huge choice and many prices and I don't know which is best. I do have cats and 3 of us have long hair

My dyson V11 trigger broke in under 2 years. Online research shows this is very usual. Dyson say they can only replace THE WHOLE MOTOR UNIT. Which I assume would be about £400 as the machine cost £600.

@PopcornParty : we are looking for a new cordless vacuum. My DP is very loyal Dyson fan. I do not like bagless vacuum cleaners. Also a bit put off with bad reviews, mostly on MN though. Could you please share which model of Miele you got, how long you have had and if you are still happy with it?

I have the Shark anti hair wrap and I love it. Mine is model number IZ300Uk
